The Art Of Surrender
With the Tarot not all what you see is the truth behind the curtain, often the images will produce a gut level reaction when it’s the mind you must engage. So with this card you must abandon your initial sense of dread but study what actually is going on in this scene.
It’s not giving up the will
or the desire to live.
It’s giving up your ignorance,
thus gaining wisdom.
It’s not throwing away things that serve you,
or moving people out of your life.
It’s giving up useless objections,
thus gaining wealth in every way.
It’s not giving up your personality
or the ego, spearhead of the soul.
It’s giving up the beliefs that you don’t believe,
thus gaining freedom to grow.
A martyr is someone who has given up the way of man
for the way of God,
which is manifested through living man.
