There is confusion about the “horned God” Cernunnos, who was the poster child for early devil imagery, and the actual Devil. The Wicca’s believe that the Devil was a Christian concept to strike fear and thus control their believers. Whether you believe in the “boogey man” or not, it’s what controls you when you make it real. The Wicca saying is, “He who believes in the Devil, already belongs”. Aye-yea, aye-yea, come and worship him,
he who promises so much yet asks so little in return.
Hold onto his tail for a whirlwind ride,
through all pleasures imaginable.
Bathe in the pool of lust,
bask in the glimmer of gold.
Beg for more beastile delights,
ever an inch from satisfaction.
What he offers you is distraction,
and while you play with his riches,
your life gets thrown into the ditches.
Writing your name in his dusty black book,
like the mindless fish, you nibble at his hook.
For his kiss you pucker,
so long, sucker!
