Now Where Did I Bury That Jar In The Backyard?
Greed or frugality in the extreme. There is popular television show called “Hoarders”, it is not about the inability to acquire personal possessions but rather the unwillingness to let go of them. Look at the man’s serious look, even a scowl. This picture inspires so many examples and I’m sharing them for you in my poem. What examples come to your mind, I’d love you to comment on your thoughts.
Here is the miserable miser,
the Scrooge hoarding his gold;
holding on to his coppers,
fearing to take a chance.
I might lose it all, he thinks;
so he doesn’t invest.
It just sits in the vault.
If you don’t let go of your money
to fulfill some good purpose,
then your wealth hasn’t served you
and you haven’t served your success.
