Aces always represent fresh beginnings. The angelic hand holds the sword, which is highly adorned and accessorized as well. The tip of the sword is bathed in radiant light, as is the jeweled crown. The crown has a palm branch on the right side (positive polarity) and a laurel branch hanging from the left (receptive energy). Without giving too much away, there’s a lot of symbology going on here, so let us say, in simplicity, that the crown, palm, and olive represent the rewards to come of leadership, honor, and peace. All of the swords in this suit are depicted with three jewels in the hilt: a ruby, emerald, and sapphire, which represent the trinity of body (red-earth), heart (blue-water), and mind (green-air). Descending from the shaft of the sword are six golden “yods,” from the Hebrew alphabet, meaning divine order and the spark of creation. A flaming sword guarding the gates of Eden,
not threatening nor striking,
just a barrier to stepping backwards.
All men in their childhood
fled as Adam did;
and forever from their sight
a paradise is hid.
One day, within their minds,
they must face that light
and befriend the angel,
the angel whose blade
masks our inherent birthright.
The blade is the piercing truth,
and the light is learning.
For man is a carrier,
infected with the fear
that keeps him from eternal life.
