Now that would just Suck!
I’m not going to soften the blow, this card is the full-on mental breakdown. This is where you have lost complete control of your mind and dived into the deep dark pit of your depression and despair. Now, as harsh as it appears, where there is darkness everywhere and the sky is filling up with blackness, the rays of a new dawn peek just over the horizon. Just beyond where our poor guy lies there are green pastures and fertile valleys ahead. He is dressed in red clothes, which represent life and physical energy, so again this does not mean physical death, or his body would be lying in a pool of blood. His left arm (the passive, receptive side) is dressed in the white of purity and a blank slate, while his head is turned to the right as if to face the hope and opportunity before this. Funny as this may seem, I remember being baptized, all dressed in white, being dunked under the water, reborn with a fresh, clean soul courtesy of Jesus. I’ll let my poem create some additional images in your mind while I await your comments. You can sigh a big breath of relief, as we have completed the journey of the Swords and the raging mental air element.
Finally overcome.
Lost the will to live;
too many contradictions,
conflicts of the mind.
Trying hard to suppress desires,
conforming to all the rules.
By blending into the scenery,
you got lost in the picture,
carried off by a sea of voices,
each making demands of you.
Forgetting to please yourself,
trying to please them all
has finally left you shattered
and scattered to the wind.
